Making Gravity Cleats Mk2

This was the first attempt at solid wood cleats with the milling jig. The test was successful–it demonstrated the practical feasibility of the toothed fiction solution far better than the plywood test–but the pine was too soft to be ideal for the milling process.

For the next iteration, we’ll go with the next hardest wood: poplar. And while the consistency in the toothed cutting pattern achieved using the router and the jig is far from ideal–the intent for the design is to be cut using a CNC machine, so spending time perfecting the jig for hand-routing wouldn’t be an efficient use of time
